About Us
This website was created by the Science National Honor Society at Long Reach High School. The Society consists of students who have a passion for science and the use of it to improve the world around themselves. The sponsors of the Long Reach chapter are Mrs. Jong and Mrs. Duff.
The Society's members are 11th and 12th graders who take rigorous science courses while contributing back to their communities - both in and outside the school. Many of our members intern and volunteer at local academic and private institutions, helping to advance science and make life better for people around the world. This year, we have joined the fight against cancer by raising money for the non profit foundation Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C). In addition, we offer free tutoring services at the East Columbia Library.

Feel free to check out our website and see what we have to offer! We welcome you with open arms!
(Speaking of arms, fun fact: the largest human wingspan ever belonged to Robert Wadlow, who had a wingspan of 9 feet, 5.75 inches! Wadlow was also the world's tallest known human, standing at 8 feet, 11.1 inches. Source from Guinness World Records)
